Fun Facts about Guam's Reefs:

Guam has over 100 square kilometers of reefs in our nearshore waters between 0-3nm
and
an additional 110 square kilometers within the EEZ (3-200 nm from shore).

Guam's reefs include fringing reefs, patch reefs, submerged reefs, offshore banks, and
barrier reefs surrounding Cocos Lagoon and Apra Harbor.

Did you know that Guam's reefs are home to
over 1,000 species of shore fishes?  But
that's not all - Guam's reefs are home to
over 5,100 species of organisms and more are
being discovered!   

What are Guam's reefs worth to our economy?     
$127 million per year!!
Our reefs provide economic benefits to our island through Tourism, Recreation,  Fisheries,
Research / Education, Amenity, and Coastal Protection.
